“Be present in all things and thankful for all things.” ~Maya Angelou
This family documentary storytelling session, a “Day in the Life,” as I call it, was nothing short of perfect. And by perfect, I mean real and ordinary and beautiful. It’s so easy to get caught up in what we think we should be doing and how we think we should be doing it… but truly, when we pause and just allow ourselves to live this life we’ve been given, we can really see the beauty in it. We all have busy lives – things to do, places to go, people to see – and that’s great. But, we also all need to slow down sometimes too. Such a balancing act, this life. Which is why I love it.
This sweet family was so great at just being together. There was coloring, fixing things, jumping on the bed, watching gymnastics (and trying some out too), playing with trucks, reading, watching the rain, making lunch, crawling behind the couch, eating lunch, working, and cuddling. They asked me if they should “do” anything and I told them, “What you’re doing is perfect,” because it was exactly them… and that is what I call wonderful.
